Teen & Young Adult IMPACT Program
Description
(girls, nonbinary & LGBTQ youth ages 16-22)
In this 12-hour class, teens and young adults learn skills to help navigate increasing independence. Lessons include physical and verbal self-protection skills, strategies to stop attempted sexual assaults, assertive communication, how to safely intervene when a friend is at risk, and tools to recognize unhealthy relationships.
Students practice both verbal and physical skills in realistic scenarios with the guidance and support of the coaching team. The class also includes discussion pieces aimed at helping students think critically about how gender expectations may put them in harm’s way and empowering them to prioritize their safety in a threatening situation.
8/3 12pm - 6pm
8/4 12pm - 6pm
